Born and raised in the city of Inkster, Byron is proud to call Inkster home. He is deeply rooted in his hometown, and is an active member of the community. As a youth, Byron was involved with local sports and was a member of the Inkster chapter of the Top Teens of America community service organization. His mother Opal Nolen, was a teacher in Inkster Public schools for more than 25 years, and Byron’s father Henry Nolen, retired from Ford Motor Company after 36 years. Byron is currently involved with many local community based organizations: Seeds 2 Feed Foundation, National Action Network Inkster Chapter, Western Wayne County NAACP, and he is the co-chair of the Inkster Task Force.
Given the constant chaos we are experiencing in our federal government, now more than ever we need common sense representation in our Congress. People want problem solving leaders who have respect for our nation’s laws, and the ability to listen to what they want, and need to make their lives better. As an attorney and elected official, I have spent my entire professional career solving people’s problems. The time for pointing out our nation’s problems and not doing anything to solve them is over.
